Maybe I'm just a crazy optimist, but it seems like this new Ratt release and tour is the start of something rather than a grand finale. I'd really like to see these guys continue to succeed. It seems they are the last hope to bring heavy, melodic rock'n'roll back. I've pretty much given up on everyone else from that era reviving anything other than nostalgic ticket sales. I want to see new young bands cut from the Ratt mold thriving in America and the rest of the world again. .… not just as a sub-culture of 80’s nostalgia, but as a complete infestation (pun intended) of rock'n'roll insanity. Ratt has managed to write and record new songs that are THE PERFECT blend of modern sounds with the heavy melodic rock I grew up on in the 80's. I really hope they are getting radio airplay around the country. Sadly, I wouldn't know because I can't stand to listen to the radio for all the watered down crap that gets played. I know there are bands out there, young musicians even, that play good music. ....young kids who live, eat, sleep, and breath their music, their talent, and their instruments with rock'n'roll in their blood.

Oh, what can I say man? I can't agree more with you. Nowadays music is a fucking shit. And I'm not talkin' only about fake created artists and crap like that, even rock n' roll bands have lost the energy, the power, the attitude, the feeling... I know that we all have talked a lot about that, and that each one have his opinion, but is a fact that fuckin' grunge and alternative rock killed the true rock n' roll spirit in the 90's. Nothing is the same since that moment. Just listen to actual bands, some of them are technically better than Crüe, Ratt, Poison or Cinderella, but don't have that magical touch that makes you go out, get drunk and rock the fuckin' night like the 80's bands. No doubt about it... It's gonna be right, right out of the night

If a melodic rock revolution is going to happen, then no better band nor album to kick it off.

If a rock revolution would happen, I think it would happen with a mix of new young hungry bands and good old 80ths bands. The old bands must drag the younger bands with them on tour, just like Kiss and Ozzy did for bands like Motley Crue back in the early 80ths. Together we can create a revolution, no one can do it solo. But this is just my opinion... |

@Emilio: You make a great point Emilio. The old bands must take the young bands on tour with them. I wonder how much thought actually goes into which bands get chosen to tour with the big name bands. I haven't seen a concert in the last 10 years in which the opening band was in the same genre as the main act. |

I lived there for a few years and I miss the Pacific Northwest. I hope this Ratt radio play is the case everywhere, although I don't think they are getting any radio play around the Baltimore/D.C area. Every once in a while I turn the radio on while I'm driving in hopes of hearing some Ratt... maybe Best of Me or Eat Me Up Alive. I flip through every station it could possibly be on, but I haven't heard anything yet. |

@Dig: I guess it´s all about money and stuff like that, and thats why there not are bands in same genre who tours together. The people in the suits dont give a damn about the genre is the exactly same, as long they make big money. But of course "rock/metal bands" open for "rock/metal bands", and that mean that a band like Crooked X can open for Kiss, and that happend two years ago... Eeew!!
