RATT benefit for Japan
March 19, 2011 11:48:45 AM UTC Post #1

A special request / challenge for RATT.

RATT was HUGE in Japan back in the day and continues to have a strong following. It would be awesome if you guys could put your differences aside and play a few benefit shows with the proceeds going to Red Cross or some organization like that?

Think of all the people in need you could help by jammin' out and layin down some serious kick ass Rock. Many of these people probably came to your shows over the years.

When you do the benefit shows, please make a live DVD. I will buy a copy of that!

Fellow Ratt-n-roller since '84.

Good idea geo-RATT. You should contact Pearcy on facebook and tell him that. I'm not a member of that stupid site so I can't tell him other.

You can't send a message on Twitter unless they follow you and Pearcy doesn't even know most of us so he's not following us. LOL

Actually RATT is still big in Japan since Infestation debuted at #5! That's #5!! That's fr*ckin amazing in this day and age!! By comparison Infestation debuted at #30 here.

I'm sure Pearcy will be up for something because I remember the King Crosby talking about how big they are Japan and how they go there every year.

I just happened to watch a little of the Out of the Celler:Atlantic Years RATT Dvd this morning. It's basically the video equivalent of the 81-91 album.

The RATT the Video part shows hordes of screaming Japanese fans running after the band and Crosby running to get away. LOL. Then another part shows them signing things and a lot of Japanese are in line and Crosby kissing a hot Japanese girl. He may be dead but he sure did LIVE. He was right when he said he's "lived the life of ten men."

Robbin did not have any unfulfilled longings when he died and that's why he said to have a party at his funeral and not be sad. He said all his dreams came true and MORE and you can see why if you see that video!

RATT is still huge in Japan compared to here. Infestation debuting at #5 is no small feat. Pearcy/Blotzer/DeMartini need to do something for them since they have practically worshipped them like gods!

Ikasawi, you are a Japanese RATT fan I assume? Are you in Japan and if so are you near the earthquake zone?

Good luck!

I think this is a great idea that every original member of this band shoud be able to get behind. Japan was very good to Ratt as evident by Ratt:The atlantic years DVD.

Thank you @BigRATTfan.
Yes, I was safe in Tokyo.
But the shaking was repeated dozens of times over and over again.
Warren had often stayed in SENDAI in mid-1980's.
This is a famous story here in JAPAN.

Ikasawi, did you see the article on the RATT website, www.therattpack.com? RATT was just in Japan a few months ago! The article is below. It seems they come to Japan regularly so you should see them again fairly soon. Whether it's Warren and Stephen together or separately they should come again relatively soon.

Here is the article:

As you can well imagine from the pictures, RATT’s performance at this year's Loud Park Festival was nothing short of awesome. Writes a trusted Roadrunner Japan correspondent, "You cannot lose with RATT, can you?"

With their 55 minute set of 12 ripping songs, the band -- frontman Stephen Pearcy, guitarists Warren DeMartini and Carlos Cavazo, bassist Robbie Crane and drummer Bobby Blotzer -- totally overwhelmed a rabid crowd of 12,000 people at the Saitama Super Area outside of Tokyo, Japan.

In addition to their appearance at Loud Park, the band checked in with MTV Japan, SpaceShower TV and influential area magazines like Burrn!, Eat, and Young Guitar, and held a meet & greet autograph session with fans at the venue!

To all Japanese RATT fans and everyone else, Pearcy recently tweeted about Japan and the tweet is below:

@shihosf Konnichiwa!!! I miss japan, I will try and bring the "Metal" Tour to Japan. ("Metal In Japan" Tour) Thank you!!

So he will try to bring the "Metal in America" tour to Japan and make it the "Metal in Japan" tour. lol

Good to hear for you guys! Best wishes with everything after the earthquake!
