Ratt Biography
As the story goes, RATT helped pioneer Hollywood’s legendary Sunset Strip sound and scene. Created by lead singer songwriter Stephen Pearcy, the band played the clubs in and around L.A. releasing their own six song E.P. RATT in 1983.
Signed to Atlantic Records in 1984 the band (Warren De Martini, Stephen Pearcy, Bobby Blotzer, Robbin Crosby and Juan Croucier) went 3x Platinum in 1984 behind the hit single "Round & Round".
Since their inception the band has sold in excess of (15) million records in the US alone.
The band returned sounding fired up and better than ever on their last record 2010 "Infestation", Ratt’s first studio album in years.
"Infestation", was a return to their heavy, riff driven roots. The band has reinvented their sound by rediscovering their strengths, shuttling listeners to a time when metal ruled the earth.
Also releasing the best of CD Tell the World: The Very Best of Ratt and their 3rd long form DVD, RATT Videos from the Cellar: The Atlantic Years.
This year 2013 Rhino/Warner Music Group recently released RATT "Original Album Series, a (5) album box set with the albums "Out of the Cellar' thru "Detonator" for the rabid RATT fans to have something to sink their teeth into.
“Our music is like it was in the beginning; it means everything to us,” Pearcy says. “And here we are 25-30 years later, keeping Ratt N’ Roll alive.”
When we play concerts now, there’s a new generation. We’re seeing kids of people who grew up with us, but the reaction is the same,” adds DeMartini. “It doesn’t seem to matter where we are in the world.”
With all surviving original members; Pearcy, De Martini, Croucier, Blotzer and Carlos Cavazo (replacing original member Robbin Crosby) back in the Ratt pack, the band will again start work on a new studio record and tour for 2013.

@jsesprad:
That was a great story. I had a Ratt moment today too. Pulling into HomeDepot my bf was switching the station on the radio and I caught the end of it. I looked at him and said....Oh yea that was new Ratt.

Hey, OBSRNR (short for "Older But Still Ratt N Rollin'"), speaking of old (although Ratt keeps us feeling young), some of us "baby boomers" from San Diego were (still are) friends with SEP and used to watch Warren when he was just a little La Jolla kid playing gigs near Pacific Beach. He was phenomenal. It's no surprise he is where he is and has been where he has been…like all the Ratt boys. So awesome to see that he inspired you. A lot of us shared some high school classes with "King Rat" Pearcy and stayed in touch through the early days and occasionally today. We were lucky enough to have enjoyed the early Mickey Ratt daze in the late 70's at local clubs and even the house parties. I wore out my original vinyl LPs but I love to break the re-masterd CDs and crank 'em. I could go on and on but, Flash Forward to today, this Ratt resurrection and infestation is nothing short of a wild dream…and I don't wanna wake up!

@Richie: Tue May 11 2010 – It will be difficult for me not to ramble on but great to see your post – not to take away from all of the great posts so far…but, man, it is so awesome to see all of the mutual excitement. We ran into Bobby at one of the many huge bars at Pechanga Resort after the Temecula show. Such a cool dude…as is the same for Robbie who was also there. They were so appreciative of the positive comments and compliments on the show. It was a completely surreal night. I just wish Carlos, Stephen & Warren were at the bar. hahaha!

I had a RATT moment. Walked into Best Buy last night to buy a printer and "Best of Me" was playing nice and load through out the store. My wife looked at me and saw that I had the biggest smile on my face. And I said "that's right baby, RATT N' ROLL is back!

I recently saw RATT in concert at Irving Plaza in New York, Monday, 10 May, 2010.
I was amazed at how well the band performed. The greatest rock band is back with an incredible new CD “infestation “and I’m ready for more.
I finally got to see my idol Bobby Blotzer up close. Bobby you left me speechless.
Thank you Bobby # 1, Warren, Stephen, Carlos & Robbie.
Best wishes
Drummer Ritchie C. New York City, RATT worshiper since 1983
R.I.P. Robin Crosby we love you too.

Ratt was the band that got me into heavier music growing up. Warren was also the main reason I started playing guitar. I will admit that I kind of got into other music in college and after almost 20 years have found myself picking up that old cd of Out of the Cellar again. When I saw the band was coming to Cleveland and heard the new album (yes I agree it has that old school Ratt sound-it sounds aswesome!) I knew I had to come. I will be there 37 years old and in my 1986 Ratt concert t. Can't wait!

Friday 5/07/10. Just got off the phone w/ Stephen's mom. A bittersweet converstion but she was so happy we made it out to the show in Temecula and are out there supporting this new Ratt wave. I cranked up up the first few seconds of Round and Round for the neighbors. I am jazzed to see ALL of the posts and support out there. Love you guys and Ratt and all of the Pearcy's.

Kick ass album! This is the kind of music I grew up on. It's been missing from the airwaves for nearly 2 decades. There are kids and young adults out there who have never been exposed to this kind of rock except through some documentary or some mockery. I hope this cd can reach some young kids and inspire a whole new generation of real rock n' rollers.
Thank you Ratt! Ratt n' Roll!
