Why not just get rid of Blotzer?

Rumor has it Ratt is done, as SEP and Blotzer can't stand each other ... again.

Warren seems happier working with SEP, so why don't the two of them get a new drummer and call it Ratt? Blotzer doesn't add much to the band, except for public embarrassment. Aside from the few hardcore fans left, no one will notice Blotz's absence.

Not sure where you heard the rumor hopefully it's not true, but I do agree with you, at this point in there lives I think they should just go out and have fun, they are not in there 20's anymore, they make great music but if it's the same person causing the problems all the time change him, Warren is very important to this band and so is Stephen. I talked to Stephen on his solo tour probably 5 or 6 years ago after a show, he was signing stuff for me we were talking and it came across that Bobby was the issue, the picture he signed for me he even put horns on Bobby's head, I have been a fan since 84 and have always stood by this band, I have gotton on planes and have flown in to see there shows Ratt shows and Stephen solo shows so I hope they carry on.

They should get rid of Bobby. He is most of what has been fucking up the band for years. Hey Blotz you are the fucking drummer get over your attitude, you ARE easily replaceable. Hell your not even that good, there are many who are better.

Every member of the band has thier fault and were/are part of the problem. This was a band that went from basically nothing to headlining arenas very quickly. They all had chops, looks, attitude and they knew it. It went to their head and ultimately their individual personalities clashed. Not the first time it happened in this business and it won't be the last. of the

As for things currently, I do think that Bobby has brought about a little too much animosity internally. But I really feel like the best thing for this band is to shut up..let the past be the past and stay together for the fans.

By the way, Bobby is a much better drummer than he gets credit. Most drummers you talk to are very quick to say that Blotzer was a big part of Ratt's success. A lot more time changes in their music compared to many other 80's rock bands. Blotzer is right up there w/ Tommy Lee

rattnjets I agree with you that Bobby does not get enough credit, I started playing the drums because of the way he plays with the time changes etc, he is a hard hitter, but fans like me want to see the band continue to tour, the last 8 plus years with Jizzy was a waste of time, they are in their 50's how much longer are they going to play the time is now, put the bull aside and get on with it, bring Juan back get a drummer that wants to be there and get out and tour, I thought when this album came out and how good it was that for sure they would just continue to tour, the tour lasted 4 or 5 months, should have been a year, they don't even need to make new music they could tour every summer for 3 or 4 months and do very well.

@ratt2001:

I really didnt think the Jizzy years were a waste of time. I saw them every time they played the NJ area and had no problems with the shows. I thought the band sounded good with him and the set lists were much better. Shame was a great show opener. Pearcy is terrible live and a lazy front man but at this point they need him. If Bobby was shown the door they wouldnt miss a beat. No one even notices him back there anyway. If they break up and go away again, they arent coming back around. The market for 80;s bands has dried up. The only one relevant that needs to come back will be GnR.

you can't have a RATT record without Stephen and Warren for sure....but it actually took all five guys to make the band and the songs that we RATT-kooks (as Bob has affectionately labeled us) love! Carlos did bring back some of the musical element that Robbin had brought...and would be great if a situation arose where Juan would be back in the mix....laying down the grooves. Robbie has filled in nicely, but Juan really made those RATT grooves...and was a significant contributor to the song writing (eg. Nobody Rides for Free, Lack of Communication)

As for Bob...well, musically.....he is the most replacable. Too bad he can't just keep his mouth shut, and not continue to be Stephen's little critic all the time. But, SEP does have LSD, and sometimes struggles with live performances. He is NOT a note-hitter....never has been. And, he isn't a David Lee Roth-esque showman either. So, then he gets subjected to Bobby's comments. I am sure it annoys the hell out of him, even when Bob tells him that it was a great show, or that he did a great job on the new album. SEP doesn't care what Bob thinks any more....and doesn't want to hear it.

Anyway.....Bob is a co- owner in the current RATT business....so can't just be dismissed. I do wonder what will happen next. I still think this "vacation" is due more to business structure than anything else, but the personality issues between Stephen and Bob are also very real. Given the degree of SEP's LSD, I just don't know if these issues can be put to rest...and the band continue.

To get the Tom Lipinsky and Roadrunner label behind them, and then to have Stephen bail again though.......man.....the economics would have to be really good for another decent label to back these guys again if they don't get their asses back out on the road by next spring...behind this album. They screwed Sony back in 2000.....and of course everyone got screwed back in 1991/1992 with the original SEP departure.

It will truly be a shame if these guys allow Motley and Poison to be the standard bearers for mid-80s glam rock/metal. RATT was/is one of the most talented all the way around (including Blotz on the kit). Just cuz Blotz doesn't have Tommy's dick, doesn't mean he isn't a good drummer! Warren and Carlos are incredible guitar players (Carlos being a more than capable replacement for Robbin musically)....and SEP is the voice and master-mind of all things RATT. It is scary that I called SEP a master-mind.....but, he epitomizes the RATT muzic...and no one makes up songs and lyrics like this guy....no matter how lazy or trite the lyrics may seem....they just fit perfectly with the swagger of the music.

Anyway....will they stay or will they go the way of the dinosaur? it is their choice...but despite their preferences otherwise, they have to make the decision together. Good luck to us all on that front! I hope they can work it out.

Not holding my breath in Seattle....

Ratt is an damn good band. Blotz needs to get the hell out before there is no more Ratt. Hell even back in the 80s Bobby thought he should be more in the spotlight. Get over it jackass, YOU ARE NOT THAT FUCKING GOOD!!!!! YOu put out a book the same day the new record came out, you are a stuck up, piece of shit prick, who should learn his place, which is only behind the drums. Buy the way Guns blew themselves up that wa their own fault.

I sure the guys don't call it quits again! Unfortunately personality clashes are going to happen. Not everyone likes their co-workers right? The key is to be able to tolerate them. I hope the guys work things out and come back through Albuquerque for their next tour with Warren, Stephen, Bobby, Carlos and Robbie present. In my opinion this is the best line up since the original line up in the '80's.

You said it perfectly SeattleRATT.

I also think that there business side of the band is also there problem. Look how Motley & Poison have made tons of money and still in today's mainstream. Kids today know who Motley Crue and Poison are but yet never even heard of RATT. What a shame.
