Well it took almost 25 years for Ratt to come back to Fresno, and man was I extremely happy to see them make a stop here on this tour following the release of their awesome, and I dare say, best album ever.
There was alot of excitement when the boys hit the stage with you're in love. the sound was a bit rough at first especially stephens voice(too loud) but they fixed it by the end of the first song. The crowd was into it and the band pumped out song after song and they sounded great. I gotta say Carlos Cavazo is a perfect fit for the energy of Ratt N' Roll and it is plain to see he is the driving force behind their resurgence, a true rock star. As always Warren is tearing it up lick after lick . Robbie plays his ass off, and Stephen is the ultimate frontman even though his voice is certainly not what it used to be, it would not be Ratt without him. The setlist was exactly the same as posted on the site front page (myrtle beach). Shuvelhead(Local band) and Jetboy opened and were both excellent. Thank You Ratt for coming back to Fresno.
That being said There was certainly a couple of disapointments I have to voice. First of all was Blotzer, I personally thought his playing was off,and I know sometimes these guys have off nights but the way he acted last night was childish from my point of view. somewhere in the middle of the set he complained (through Stephen) that the lights were not on him enough and then he proceded to give the finger in the direction of the crowd (maybe at the light guy I don't know) and as soon as they finished round and round he bolted from the stage without even acknowledging the fans as all the rest of the guys stood and waved and appreciated their fans. Blotzer loves to complain publically about his bandmates but from my point of view he is the true A**hole and couldn't care less about his fans. as another example go to the part of the web site where you can purchase the meet and greet with "Stephen,Warren,Robbie, and Carlos" can someone explain why Blotzer would not do a meet and greet with his fans(who pay an extra $100)along with his bandmates. I truly hope Ratt N' Roll keeps moving on, but does anybody really care if they dump this jerk and get a drummer twice as good and who would appreciate why he is there in the first place, The Fans. Anyway I know this will piss off Blotzer fans(if there are any) but that is my point of view.
The second dissapointment was no encore. The crowd was still pumped and loud after round and round and the house lights stayed off for several minutes setting it up. I know they did a encore in Vegas the night before(Eat me up Alive and Walkin the dog) Maybe Blotzer was still crying about the lights not being on him. Oh well still a great show and I hope the rest of the tour goes great. Thanks again for coming to Fresno!
